This is what it was like: An epistemology for prehistoric filmmaking
This essay is an exploration of what it means to translate science into a fiction film. It is pretty straightforward to watch a (pre)historical film and point out mistakes, but it is suprisingly tricky to create a film that is fully in line with scientific facts. I presented my ideas at the 2025 MetArh conference in Zagreb. The below text is a freeform version of the essay, written in an accessible style. The second download link leads to the more formalized version, which is currently under review for the proceedings journal of the conference.
